Taken from the atheist reddit. Hard to believe that even a fundie could be so miserably bad at math, but there you have it…

I’m not absolutely positive, but I’m pretty sure the Bible hasn’t claimed that the Earth has only ever existed for 6,000 years; nevertheless, this idea, that we’re running out of water, is a load of rubbish. If there’s any problem with water, at all, instead, the problem is distribution, and, possibly, filtration. Water’s like energy, per se, it appears that water can neither be created, nor destroyed. Water is only ever displaced. For instance, take the salt plains of Bolivia; it’s not like oceans of water simply disappear. This is Mother Nature’s system of filtration, which is, oh so, natural and absolutely essential to our existence. The shortage of water isn’t caused by a lack of water, but, rather, it’s caused by a shortage of intelligence and a lack of sympathy. Still, I don’t see how this idea has anything to do with religion, or, in other words, proves atheists wrong. Politely put, this idea (or graphic) is quite retarded.
Well, technically, water can be created or destroyed. It’s the result of a number of chemical reactions, some of which occur in nature.
But yea, this graphic is faulty on more than just the math. Basic biology too.
Overall, I’m guessing it’s more troll than fundie, really, because it’s just so stupid.
Yeah, you’re probably right. Nevertheless, I just wanted to make the point of how this ‘water “shortage” issue’ is a load of rubbish. It’s simply another example of the quite-obvious exploitation of the quite-unintelligent people out there.
But you guys have seen the obvious error, right?
Which one? The thing’s loaded with obvious errors. Math, biology, theology, logic… I think I see a few grammar mistakes too.
Which one are you referring to?
That it assumes that we believe there’s been 6 billion human beings around for 3 billion years.
Ah, that one. Yea, I saw it.
When it’s so loaded with stupid, it can be hard to determine which particular stupid you think it most obvious.
Fundamentalists scare me..
Mass of an isolated system (the earth and it’s atmosphere) will remain constant over time. That’s just a fundamental of physics. Water might not always be water but all of its components will always remain, and eventually can be water again.
