The Omaha mall massacre: thank you, government!

Kent McManigal reams the State police for taking away the guns of innocent people and then taking the credit, such as in the recent massacre in Omaha (emphasis his):

Just in case anyone still, after all these years, thinks it is a good idea to leave guns to the bad people and the badge people only: “By the time officers arrived six minutes later, the shooting was over”. That is the only relevant part of the news story about Wednesday afternoon’s mall shooting in Omaha. It is the only part that does not ever seem to get inside the brains of the disarmament crowd.

When a crime occurs it is too late to call anyone for help. Cops are NOT legally responsible for protecting you anyway. That fallacy has been disproved in court… Cops are the vultures who swoop in to feed off of the carnage after it is over, at least in most cases.

To this I will add this. Many people claim that the police stops crime, but I’ve always said this is bullshit. If someone wants to kill you, then no one can stop him, unless he is an imbecile. The only thing they can do is pick up your body afterwards, and, in some cases, find whoever did it and punish him. Do we really need a monopoly of force just to do that?

What cruel nonsense!

I was just thinking this morning that in most cases like this, it is, in fact, a gun that ends the whole thing, if only in a round-about way. In the right hands, a gun could end it sooner.

I wonder if potential “shooters” knew that common citizens were packing weapons, they would even attempt shit like this?

There’s strong theory that suggests at least some of them would be repelled by the very idea. Why do people spend money on car alarms? Because they deter *some* car thefts — not all car thefts, but some. And fewer thefts is better than more thefts, just like fewer mall massacres is better than more mall massacres.

The funniest and most accurate label for the police that I have ever heard: “Crime janitors”

Start using it, spread the meme.
