How to stump an anti-abortionist…

with one question. What question would that be?

If abortion was illegal, what should be done with the women who have illegal abortions?

Now watch their faces as the cognitive dissonance sets in. They believe abortion to be murder. Murder deserves severe punishment. Thus, women who have illegal abortions should receive severe punishment — like life in prison or the death penalty. That’s the logical conclusion.

But they can’t accept this conclusion. They know it’s absurd and unfair — which means they know abortion is not really murder.

There’s also a video of anti-abortionists answering the “killer” question (pun intended).

What would Jesus do? Jesus apparently didn’t think abortion was very important, since he didn’t say a thing about it. But then again, he didn’t talk about slavery either. You gotta excuse him, he had a lot going on in his mind at that time…

Do all “anti-abortionists” hold the same ideals and values-I wouldn’t know. Guess you’d have to be an atheist to have that kind of “insight”. > What are you afraid of, my friend? Like the thief who is afraid of being caught but not the least bit remorseful for the crime.
    In response to your ??’s
Jesus gave us a written law in addition to writing his law on our hearts. You know murder is wrong, so do I. You know that a fetus is a child, so do I.

Why can’t you admit elective abortion is merely the devaluation of life (the baby’s) in a failed attempt to numb the conscience (not) of irresponsible people who choose to engage in irresponsible sex. Do you think the issue of abortion began with you or your generation? The arrogance. Did your wife, sister, mother, self, close friend, whoever when pregnant, talk to the child? Did they believe/know they were carrying a baby? Was it a baby or just a disorganized “pre-human” substance? A lump of coal if you will? Something, that if judged to be an inconvenience, was deserving of death? Would it have created emotional pain for them had the child died? I’d like to hear your reply.

How many believers have you queried to draw your premise of punishment for murder, or are you merely spouting off unsupported opinion in an attempt to influence others into believing as you do? The punishment for stealing is the same for one as for another, so it is for murder. Abortion is murder and always has been.
    No confusion or ambiguity there.

In response to your biblical ??’s: “You shall not murder.” Deut. 5:17 “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. John 10:10. “Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave- just as the son of man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:27
“Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. Romans” 13:1.

Slavery was abolished through the efforts of Evangelical Christians, chief among them were John Wesley and William Wilberforce. John Newton penned Amazing Grace after being convicted by the Holy Spirit while working on a slave ship and left the trade to become a staunch proponent for abolition of slavery.
You’ve only allowed yourself to hear the “truth” that feeds what you want to believe, but that is not the truth as history (secular or Biblical) has proven. Our country is built on Christian values. Read the Declaration of Independence-a good read. Read some C.S. Lewis.
I challenge you to ask Jesus to open your eyes, if he’s not worth believing, what have you got to loose but the time to try? Best wishes. Ron ““““““““““““““““““““
