The real paradigm is between corporations and individuals.

This article contends that the old paradigm of left versus right is defeated, that it’s become corporations versus individuals. While the basic idea is correct, their idea of history is bullshit. It has always been corporations versus individuals. At no point in US history has this not been the case! The United States was founded because of corporate land interests, who wanted the lands west of the Appalachian Mountains by massacring all the Indians, but were prevented from doing so by the Proclamation of 1763. That was the whole point of US independence. So stop this bullshit that corporate power versus individuals is a new thing. Whatever happened to awareness of black slavery? Whatever happened to awareness of labor struggles? It’s like the history of anything beyond the past fifty years has been totally erased, and these morons at Disinformation are helping propagate the ignorance.

We now live in an era defined by increasing Corporate influence and authority over the individual. These two “interest groups” – I can barely suppress snorting derisively over that phrase – have been on a headlong collision course for decades, which came to a head with the financial collapse and bailouts. Where there is massive concentrations of wealth and influence, there will be abuse of power. The Individual has been supplanted in the political process nearly entirely by corporate money, legislative influence, campaign contributions, even free speech rights.

This may not be a brilliant insight, but it is surely an overlooked one. It is now an Individual vs. Corporate debate – and the Humans are losing.
