"No future triumph or metamorphosis can justify the pitiful blighting of a human being against his will." Peter Zapffe
This … is rather surrealist, up to the time when the sect boss guy starts yelling insults, and I jumped to the end at that point. Have heard enough misogynist insults for a lifetime.
What do you think the artist wanted to say with that one?
I thought it was a parody of MGTOWs, their ideal world… a world without women… where they can be “rational” all they want… but where they are sexually frustrated (because heavens forbid they turn gay!).
Ah. That’s what I thought, too, but wasn’t sure it wasn’t meant seriously. The old problem with parody. I suppose his going crazy at the end was supposed to be a result of sexual frustration? (The masturbation that was shown could easily be part of some man’s idea of utopia.)
It’s from Sam Hyde, so I’m definitely sure it’s not serious. His heaviest stuff is satire (the stuff I like, personally), and the rest is just goofing off and offensiveness for the sake of offensiveness.
Just read the comments on youtube … with most of the commenters being misogynistic males, if it was supposed to be ironic, it failed. But interesting to know that there are misogynistic men who hate MGTOWs. (What does this stand for, actually? Do I want to know? Or is it just a fancy name for a group of misogynists who want to kill all women?)
Offensiveness for the sake of offensiveness is still promoting the offensive ideas, so I don’t think it is much better than being offensive because one is convinced of those ideas.
Parodies that aren’t understood as parodies by most viewers have a similar problem of promoting shitty ideas.
To be fair, MRAs in general are very stupid people, and are often unable to recognize satire or parody no matter how obvious.
MGTOW = Men Going Their Own Way
What is the goddamn point of being so offensive in this day and age? I’m not sure if this relevant, but remember that one TV show that I talked to you about called “Panty and Stockign with Garterbelt?” I found it crass but hardly offensive.
The point I’m trying to make is why do people put so much effort into making people angry? I mean, have you seen The Amazing Atheist?
Unfortunately I have.
